Chang Jianhua published the book “History of the Ancient Chinese Festival”.


Professor Chang Jianhua’s book “History of the Ancient Chinese Festival” recently issued by the Chinese Workers Press. Based on the domestic and foreign scholars research achievements, this book systematically organize the festival at the age of about literature, attempt to more accurate, detailed and systematic reflect the aspect of the festival at the age of the Han nationality in ancient China and put forward some new point. This book is equipped with more clear image data, easy for readers to understand the text. The book discusses many ancient Chinese festival, such as the Man-Day, Spring Begins, the Lantern Festival, HuaChao, Wenchangdan, Shangsi, Cold Food Festival and Ancestor’s Day, Bathing of the Buddha, Dragon Boat Festival, Summer Solstice, Qixi Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, the Chongyang, the Winter Solstice and New Year's eve festival. In addition, the four articles in the appendix are quite useful works, namely: "The Etiquette and Festival of Zhengdan in the Ming Hongwu Period", "New Year's Day Festival system in the Qing Dynasty", "Walking the Three Bridges" in Jiangnan and The Festival Culture in The Chinese Age ", "The Three Theodicy in Chinese Yuan".
