Research Institute of Social History of China in Nankai University
was reconstructed according to the requirement the spirit of intensifying
the reform on science and research and constructing the first-class
key social and humanity science research base, on the base of the
"Chinese Social History" of the "211 Project"
by the Ministry of Education and with the support of the two key
disciplines of Chinese Ancient History and Chinese Modern and History
in December 1999. It passed the examination by the Ministry of Education
in September 2000, and becomes one of the selected units of "Humanities
and Social Sciences Key Research Bases Construction Plan in General
Higher Learning Schools."
Key Research Institute of Social History
of China in Nankai University (The Institute) now has 31 full-time
and part-time researchers, executive and library management, including
24 full-time or part-time professors and 5 associate-professors
and 24 persons holding doctor degrees. The full-time researchers
are from this Center, the College of History, the Department of
Political Science, the School of Economics and other related schools
and departments of Nankai University, and the part-time researchers
are the social history specialists from some reputable universities
and institutes.
